About the Class

All levels and all subjects are welcome. Oil painting in a working gallery studio, surrounded by museum-quality art. Incoming students study four foundational lessons in their first month, then move into individual projects with Janice’s guidance. Whether you have been painting for decades or are picking up a brush for the first time, this class meets you where you are.

About Janice Yow Hindes

Janice has been painting since 1972 and teaching since 1974. She is a Signature member of Oil Painters of America, served as President of the Coppini Academy of Fine Arts, and was named Coppini’s Artist of the Year in 2002. Her work has been exhibited at the National Arts Club in New York, the Gilcrease Museum, and the Cowboy Artists of America Museum (selected by Howard Terpning). She holds a Master of Science in Art from Texas A&M at Kingsville.

In 2017, Janice opened Hindes Fine Art Gallery & Academy to bring together exhibition and education under one roof. She also leads plein air painting tours to San Miguel de Allende, Spain, Italy, and France.
