About the Workshop
The focus of this class is going to be doing outdoor studies of the clothed human figure. We will be setting up models and painting them from life with a variety of time limits, lighting situations, and format sizes. Understanding natural light on your subject is key whether you’re finishing a painting outdoors from life or in the studio from a photo. I will be focusing on helping the students understand basic concepts and practices that will allow them to integrate this practice into their work and manage its complexities by simplifying the process and the focus to necessary components while eliminating excuses, superfluous details and distractions.
