About the Workshop
The focus of this workshop is creating majestic skies with proper perspective, light, and luminous color. Nathaniel will create a single painting over three days, dividing the demonstration into four parts each morning and afternoon, allowing students to make the same progress on their own paintings. Photos will be provided, but students may also bring their own. 15 students max.
Material List
MATERIAL LIST
1 Canvas or panel (16″x 20″ or smaller)
Notebook or sketchpad for notes
Orderless Mineral spirits of your choice (I use Gamsol)
What ever brushes and palette knifes you like
(For clouds, I use a #10 flat brush, #6 Filbert Brush, #3 script liner, and a #6 fan brush)
Paper towels
Palette
Bring several reference photos to paint from, you can also use the ones that are provided
Oil paints (any brand works)
Recommended Colors
The colors I use is: Titanium White Cadmium Yellow Medium Cadmium Red Medium Yellow Ochre Raw Umber Ultramarine Blue Quinacridone Magenta
