Nathaniel Garza (b. 2005), celebrates the Texas landscape and uses artistry, the power of light and color to detail the beauty of the land, wildlife, and the pulse of nature in the state of Texas, the Great Plains and the American West.

Nathaniel is an exceptional, autistic self taught artist. He was born into a family of artist and musicians who recognize the importance of art as a therapeutic form of expression. Nathaniel’s parents recall him as a toddler creating figures and people with obvious expression. Garza discovered, painting, and drawing as an invaluable form of expression. Art making helped him communicate. Since the age of 12, Nathaniel has painted and drawn, religiously and daily, knowing that art is what he loves to do and share. Garza has an intense connection to the Texas landscape, wild animals and Western art.

His first exhibitions include Scholastic New York, Young Arts Miami, San Antonio Stock Show Rodeo, Texas Art Education Association. At a recent exhibition “I am Texas” at the Bryan museum in Galveston he was awarded the cover of the magazine for his art.

He was featured Artist at Luminaria Art Festival 2023 in San Antonio and secured from that event a working Artist grant. He also received a grant from KRW Kicks benefiting the Autistic Autism Treatment Center. Garza is the youngest participant asked to create a poster for the 2023-2024 San Antonio Fiesta Commission. This young artist has a brilliant future in fine arts.
