Subject : Majestic Skies

Medium : Oil paints

Class overview: 

The focus of this workshop will be creating majestic skies that have proper perspective, Light, and luminous color.

I will create a single painting in three days. I’ll divide the demonstration into four parts which will be executed first thing in the morning and first thing in the afternoon after lunch of each day, allowing students to make that same progress on their own paintings.

Photos will be provided, but students may also bring their own.

MATERIAL LIST

1 Canvas or panel (16″x 20″ or smaller)

Notebook or sketchpad for notes

Orderless Mineral spirits of your choice (I use Gamsol)

What ever brushes and palette knifes you like

(For clouds, I use a #10 flat brush, #6 Filbert Brush, #3 script liner, and a #6 fan brush)

Paper towels

Palette

Bring several reference photos to paint from, you can also use the ones that are provided 🙂

Oil paints (any brand works)
